The Child Development Center is an extension of Chinatown Service Center. The school is a licensed, non-profit organization established to meet the needs of the community by providing a quality child development program within an environment that allows children to grow at their pace.
PHILOSOPHY AND PROGRAM The family is the most important influence on a child’s total development. The Child Development Center can assist parents in this very important task.
Young children learn best through an interactive learning process. Integral parts of the process include: a staff that is sensitive to the needs and capabilities of each child, and a program that enriches and reinforces children by fostering experiences in developmental areas; such as: social-emotional growth, cognition, large and small gross motor skills, music and creative expression.

The staff members have broad experiences working with young children in various settings, which enhances our center’s program.
FEES Fees for subsidized spaces are based on a family's monthly income and how many individuals are supported by that income. The California sliding scale fee schedule is used to determine if a family qualifies for fully subsidized child care or if a fee is required. Fee-based spaces are available for families that do not qualify for subsidized care. Please contact the Center for current fees. Parents may be asked to pay a small fee for field trips or for other special activities.
